Taiwan, Taichung mission: Week 27

This week has been alright. Many of our appointments fell through but we continue to have faith in the Lord and it will not change just because the outcome is not what we expected. On Friday, we have our correlation with ward mission leader, before we left the meeting, we gave some chocolate to him to bring them home for his children. That night, he and his family called us on the phone and sang us their favourite hymn - Children of our Heavenly Father. As I was listening to them, I really felt the love from them to us and touched my heart to know that as we show love to the members of the ward, they will feel it (even just a simple action), they will remember and be grateful.
Personal prayer being answered: one night I knelt down and prayed the Lord will give me guidance as to how we missionaries can help strengthen this ward in their unity. As I listened to the Spirit, I heard a clear response in my mind: the sisters in the ward need to know the important of service through love. Anyone who read my email this week and is going through hardship in your life right now, please find an opportunity to serve others. Through serving and caring for others, 2 things will happen. 1) You will find yourself feeling happier because you forget your own problems in the moment of service 2) You will receive helps and blessings from the Lord because you help take care of His other children.
I realised that the Lord knows what we will get out of through serving others, therefore, in His church -The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a church of service. Member of the church has given opportunity to serve through visiting/ home teaching, and different callings (lay ministry) in church that require our time and sacrifice to serve WELL.
My happy moment of the week: Last week I finally gave an article about Faith and Agency to one of our English student, Benjamin, who has been meeting with missionaries on and off for the past 10 years (his wife oppose to him joining church but he know is true). Sunday during sacrament meeting, I saw him!!! This is my first time seeing him at church service since I've been here. I wasn't sure if the article did any works but I truly hope he can someday become a member of the church!

Anyway, my time is up for this week. I realised that my sister left my email on Facebook , thanks for some of your emails but sorry I won't have too much time to reply you on my mission. Please know that I do appreciate your emails and love!
