Taiwan, Taichung mission: Week 18

Hello hello~~

How's everyone week? The week has been so good! The general conference absolutely make it one of the best week. I felt so inspired and uplifted after coming out watching the conference. My companion and I each wrote about 9 questions 2 nights before watching it, all of our questions were answered through the mouth of the prophet and other church leaders! When 4 of us missionaries in our districts eagerly waiting for the conference broadcast to start (the english session is in another room) , Elder Ju said he felt like little kid again waiting to open up Christmas presents on Christmas morning. Haha. That's exactly how I felt!
Now I cannot wait for the church magazine for next month so I can read all these wonderful talks again.

Several people asked me which one is my favourite, I have to said it is hard to really pick one favourite. However, there are several especially stuck in my mind after the conference:

1) President Uchtdorf : " Doubt your doubt first before you doubt your life." What a word of wisdom!! Definitely goes in to my favourite quotes book.

2) President Eyring said something like : "we cannot force the truth on others but we can let them see it in our lives." So true. Help me wanted to become a better follower of Christ so people know the Saviour by seeing the way I live.

3) Elder Richard G. Scott. (okay, I have to admit this is one of my favourite talks. Somehow Elder Scott has a really soothing voice that many times I couldn't focus during his talks for past conferences but this time I listen to it from top to bottom and absolutely love it! ) - One of the questions I asked was: how can we avoid the temptation of Satan in lives apart from pray and scriptures and church? The answers being : serve Heavenly Father's children. Elder Scott: "fill your life with service to others. As you lose your life in the service of Father in Heaven’s children, Satan’s temptations lose power in your life."
I testified to this. I can feel what he said stronger being out here serving others.

SO yeap, a few of the things I have learned from general conference. Now I just need to live it!

Favourite scripture from conference:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."  Isaiah 55 :8-9

I would like to hear some of your insights about conference! Let me know what have you learnt too!
Enjoy the pictures! Love, sister Ting xoxo

A member took us to one of the biggest Buddist temple in Taiwan. I felt like in the Forbidden city.

So we have MultiStake Sport's Day in the Gao Xiong and missionaries are invited. Qi Shan ward get the 3rd. It somehow also turned into competition between missionaries for their wards. I was competing in rope jumping and relay. I know that I wasn't a very sporty person but never know that a 200m running almost take half of my life away. The soreness of my body the next day make me realised biking for the past 6 months hasn't really keep me in shape!  LOL

Giant bowl of fruits ice-shave after the sport's day with our ward.

Sister Tsoi , one of my MTC companion. She is in a different zone now so it's a treat to see her again!
