Taiwan, Taichung mission: Letter 9

Dear all,

It has been a very good week!

I received many personal revelation while doing personal study in the morning this week. One of them being in Alma 17:10-11 and Alma 26:27. Both scriptures advises that as we be patient in afflictions, the Lord will make us an instrument in His hands and will give us success. The key is to be patient. This is the Christlike attribute I am trying to improve these 2 weeks. Sometimes, I realized I am very impatient and want to see the end result right away when efforts have been put in. My natural man behaviour allows me to forgot this is the Lord's work, it is His time, not mine. The scriptures reminded me to be patient on the journey of serving the Lord and help me to be a happier missionary.

One night, I decided I want to refresh my testimonies on the restoration lesson (I have always have the testimony about the first vision but I want to be able to share with people that I teach a current testimony that I receive on mission).  I prayed to Heavenly Father that night to help me gain a fresh testimony to know that God is my loving Heavenly Father and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. The next day, as my companion prepared the first lesson for our investigator, she decided we need to showed her the video of Joseph Smith's first vision right before we run out the door of our apartment. Despite watching more than 10 times before, this time, my heart felt especially warm at the scene when Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in the grove. At that moment, I felt a confirmation that God IS MY HEAVENLY FATHER AND LOVES ME. Also, as Joseph Smith showed his dad the book of Mormon and his dad read Moroni 10:4-5, tears filled up my eyes at that moment. My testimony about Joseph Smith was/is a prophet of God and B.OM is words of God has been confirmed once again by the Spirit. The Spirit has indeed "manifest the truth" unto me.

Just want to tell you all I am loving my mission in Taichung (oh, I said that too many times?!). The weather is getting cooler now that we are almost in August! Last night the rain is pouring like it's not gonna stop and we got home soaking wet because I'm not quick enough to grab the raincoat and couldn't be bother to stop on the road and get it. In my heart, I was thinking a myth that I heard many years ago from some missionaries saying the more wet you get, the better looking your future eternal companion gonna be... LOL. How encouraging huh?!

Letters:  Kayrn Clements and Casper yeow - I know your mails!! Thanks for writing... I am writing you very soon so wait for it!
