For those of you who haven't heard, I have got my Australia Permanent Residency in July. No intention to show off or anything. Just thought the process of getting this visa/PR was a pain over the past 4-5 years for me that I would like to share the experience. So, as some of you may know, in order for international student to apply for PR, sitting for IELTS test (a form of English test) is a must. And almost every year the rule of the passing scores/bands changes. Anyway, for the past 3 years, I have been trying to pass the test to allow me to registered for my RN and then applied for PR. Every time, I failed by 0.5 marks. I was so frustrated with the situation that I eventually tell myself, I don't care about the PR anyway. Since I haven't have the real intention for staying in Australia for long so why bother. Thanks to my good old Dad who insisted that I take the test for the one last time (after 5 times of taking the test), guess what?! I passed the test! My was so surprised with the results that I had to double check the name to make sure it was mine. LOL. To sum up the experience: Listen to your folks =)
Another major thing happened in my life- I'M AN AUNT!!! In September, I spent a month visiting my sister in Provo, Utah because she was due to have a baby boy. What an amazing experience it was to be in the labor room seeing/filming/photo taking the process of the delivery of Baby Liam. I wouldn't say it was a pretty view, but definitely a privilege to be there for my dearest sister. No, it didn't scared me off to have a baby after this experience if you ask. In fact, I think being able to give birth, to go through this mighty experience is a blessing. I can see the love of a mother glowing all around my sister when I saw the way she patiently care for her new born son.
I am a proud Aunt~~
I can't imagine anyone disagree with his cuteness...
During my visit to Utah (again) this time, not only I got to spend time with my family, I was able to meet up with a few dear friends that I haven't seen for a while and get to make some new friends. One of the highlights of the trip is that I was able to attend both Women's conference and General Conference of my church. What an uplifted experience for me!
Jordon River Temple - One of my favourite temple. Has always been wanting to come. Goal achieved!!
